Manchester City star Ilkay Gundogan put on a Man of the Match display in the 4-0 victory over Basel in the Champions League Last 16 first-leg clash on Tuesday.
The midfielder of Turkish origin opened the scoring in the first half but saved the last until last with a brilliant effort from range to score his sides fourth and final goal.
As is so often the case when a midfielder in the Premier League puts on an impressive display he ends up being compared to Manchester United ace Paul Pogba.
This time it was City fans turn to rip into the France international and compare him with Gundogan – who probably is not even the Ctiziens best performing midfielder.

one thing I like to do when a rival’s cm scores a goal is search their name and then put pogba’s after it, for example search ‘gundogan pogba’ and look how many people are now comparing them, shows how highly rated pogba actually is
