‘He is a very, very good guy’ – Emre Can praises character of Liverpool youngster

Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has been in great form recently, starting in every game over the Reds seven game unbeaten run.

Can has however, taken time to praise his teammates and recently came out in support of his midfield partner Gini Wijnaldum.

The Germany international of Turkish origin also singled out 18-year-old Reds youngster Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Can revealed that he is fond of Arnold’s character, describing him as a ‘very very goal guy’.

“He is a very, very good guy,” Can was quoted as saying on the official Liverpool website.

“I like his character, because when you are young you have to work hard, you have to get your head down – and he is doing that, as are the other guys as well.

“He is training very well and when he comes onto the pitch and gets his chance, he is there.”

The rising star was given playing time in the second half of the Merseyside derby against Everton which Liverpool won 3-1.

In total Arnold has made 11 first-team appearances for Liverpool in all competitions this season.

Can meanwhile has started the last eight league games for the Reds since captain Jordan Henderson picked up an injury.

The 23-year-old is likely to start for Liverpool against Crystal Palace over the weekend.
