Real Madrid fans will have to wait a little longer to see their new wonderkid Arda Guler in action, as manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that the Turk is not yet ready to make his debut.

Guler, who joined Real Madrid from Fenerbahce for €25m in the summer, has been sidelined with a knee injury since preseason. The midfielder picked up another injury just before he was expected to make his debut a few weeks ago.

He is now back in training but Ancelotti says he needs to build up his fitness before he can be considered for selection.

Ancelotti revealed Guler will never another 10 days to two weeks to be at full fitness but that he ‘will have his moment’.

“He is quite good but he lacks a bit of condition. He will have his moment, I think in 10 days, two weeks, he will be at full fitness. He is an offensive player, he is not a centre-forward and he is more like Bellingham, a playmaker. He can play on the wing as well, cutting in, he can play in a lot of positions,” Ancelotti said.

Ancelotti also praised Guler’s attitude despite his difficult start at Real and underlined that he will be able to showcase his ‘great number of qualities to the world’ soon.

“Everyone has all the time for Guler, because he is young,” Ancelotti added. “He has to adapt well and they are helping him. He is not happy because he wanted to start in a different way… but he has all the time in the world to do well here. He will be soon be ready to show all of his great number of qualities to the world.”

Guler is one of the most highly-rated young players in Europe and Real Madrid fans are excited to see him in action. However, it seems that they will have to wait a little longer before they can do so.

The 18-year-old has returned to individual and team training but Real do not want to rush him back before he is ready.
