Henrikh Mkhitaryan Makes Bold Claim About Arsenal Star Mesut Ozil

Arsenal swapped Alexis Sanchez for Henrikh Mkhitaryan over the winter transfer window.

The former Borussia Dortmund man was part of a January overhaul by Arsene Wenger, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also joining the club for a record £56 million fee.

Mkhitaryan appears to be settling in quicker than expected and already has three assists to his name.

The Armenia international also seems rather fond of his new teammate Mesut Ozil.

In fact he described the playmaker of Turkish origin as being the best No 10 in the world – which probably will not go down well with previous No 10’s he has played with.

Mkhitaryan added that playing alongside Ozil fills him with ‘happiness’ and ‘joy’ as he understands the game so well.

Asked about how much he’s looking forward to playing with Ozil and his other new teammate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, he told Arsenal Player: “Yes of course, not only us three but as well the players that are playing next to us.

“They are having a big impact on the team’s success and the playing style of Arsenal and of course we are trying to do the best.

“Everyone knows that Mesut is one of the best players in the world. ‘It’s only happiness and joy to play next to him because he understands very well the football game, he has great vision, he has amazing technique and he’s the best in his position.”

This is not the first time Ozil has been called the best No 10 in the world.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was also of the same opinion when he coached Ozil at Real Madrid: “Özil is unique. He’s the best no. 10 in the world,” he was quoted as saying by Marca in 2013.

Ozil has scored four goals and provided seven assists in 23 appearances for the North London based outfit this season.
