Herrera Comments Suggest Man United Contract Rebel Has Future At Old Trafford

Manchester United contract rebel Marouane Fellaini could have a future at Old Trafford – at least until the end of the season.

United midfielder Ander Herrera revealed who he thinks will help add goals and included the Belgium international among his list.

“Alexis, we know, will score a lot of goals and we can add some goals from the midfield through [Marouane] Fellaini, Paul [Pogba] and [Nemanja] Matic who has a very good shot, as does Michael Carrick,” the Spaniard told MUTV.

Fellaini would obviously have to stay to contribute to goals.

It appears among Fellaini’s teammates – well Herrera in particular – the feeling is that he will stay a part of the team and that he is considered an important member of the side.

The problem is the 29-year-old will be a free agent at the end of the season unless he strikes a contract extension deal.

The powerful midfielder has had no shortage of interest.

A source close to Besiktas confirmed that the club have held multiple talks with Fellaini’s representatives over a lucrative end of season deal.

Futbolarena meanwhile claim Galatasaray aim to replace Badou Ndiaye with long term target Fellaini.

Both clubs would be able to offer lucrative long-term deals with assurances of first-team football.

Mourinho did block Fellaini’s transfer to the Lions over the summer but would be unable to do so again unless an agreement is reached over his contract.

“It’s easier for Galatasaray to get me than to get Maroaune,” Mourinho was quoted as saying by Goal.

“Forget it. He’s too important to me.”

Fellaini has four goals and one assist in 15 games for the Red Devils this season.
