“He’s not signing a contract. It’s laughable.” Arsenal legend roasts Mesut Ozil following  angry social media post

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has fired back at Mesut Ozil following the 28-year-old’s social media post.

Ozil took to Instagram last week to tell fans and former players to “stop talking and start supporting“.

However, Wright has dismissed Ozil’s outcry as “laughable.”

The former England international questioned Ozil’s commitment to the Gunners and asked why the 28-year-old still hasn’t signed a new deal.

Ozil has under 12-months remaining on his contract with the Gunners. Unless a new deal can be agreed, the midfield playmaker can leave for free next summer.

“Sign a contract, if you feel that strongly about people criticising the team because you’re somebody who is integral to Arsenal’s success,” Wright told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“You’re not signing a deal and you’re probably going to continue to hide behind the fact that (Alexis) Sanchez is the one that everybody’s going to say, “Is he going to go?”.

“Why haven’t you signed yet? That’s what I would say to you. If you feel that strongly, why haven’t you signed yet?

“A player that is not actually performing on the pitch is coming out, calling people out and he’s not signing a contract. It’s laughable.”

Ozil may be under fire for his performances for Arsenal however, his international performances are a different story.

The former Real Madrid star scored and provided an assist during Germany’s 6-0 win over Norway. Ozil also provided an assist for Germany’s opener against the Czech Republic last week.

Arsenal take on an out-of-form Bournemouth this weekend as they look to return to winning ways.
