Perhaps it was lost in translation or maybe he meant it… whatever Emre Can was thinking if his intentions were to annoy Liverpool fans he did a pretty good job.
In an interview with Sport BILD the midfielder of Turkish origin said: “I have the self-confidence to say that my qualities are sufficient to play in a very big club next season.”
Now this has been construed as a hint he could be leaving. The fact he said has has the qualities to play at a ‘very big club’ caused a stir.
What did he mean by that? is he suggesting Liverpool are not a big club or has he just been misunderstood.
After all the interview was in German so there is the possibility he did not mean it like that.
Anyway Can has still not confirmed whether he will or won’t sign a contract extension next season.
He could probably do with clearing up what he actually meant in the interview.

Emre Can as good as gone. Oh well. #LFC

Emre Can wouldn’t be a big miss when he leaves, we can already tell he wants to since December. One of the most inconsistent players I’ve seen, could play well against City and then play awful at Swansea. Easily replaceable, enjoy the Juventus bench.

Emre can has to be one of the most overrated player in PL right now
He is at LFC since 2014 , hasnt delivered anything special yet…
Lacks consistency still he thinks he is world class ?— Abhinav (@abhiverma842) March 21, 2018
The only thing I’d miss about Emre Can is his slick hair style

Emre Can hasn’t done himself any favours with that interview

Why does Emre Can think he his some kind of Superstar? He’s decent, like Hendo, like Gini – but nothing more… he thinks he is much better than he actually is. Don’t let the door hit you in the arse on the way out ??

Emre Can knew if he stayed, he Woudnt get in the team due to our Naby coming in, bless him

Emre Can is a wonderul young midfielder, and has tremendous potential, but he’s far from irreplaceable. There are young midfielders Liverpool can pursue that’d be direct replacements and an upgrade all in one. If he wants to leave, Klopp’ll find someone else

Emre Can loves himself, stuck up unprofessional footballer. Hope you rot on Bayern or Juventus bench! #LFC

Harsh?
Emre Can should never play for Liverpool again.

Not everyone would be happy to see him go!
Emre Can is the best midfielder we have but now you’ll hear that Henderson is a better asset for us.
