Everton have appointed Marco Silva as their new manager after parting ways with Sam Allardyce at the end of the season.
Big Sam’s defensive playing style did not exactly go down well with the fans.
Allardyce did however, make a few important transfers in January, bringing in Cenk Tosun and Theo Walcott who have been among the Toffees most in-form attacking players in 2018.
Tosun made no secret that Big Sam played a major role in his transfer and that he wanted him while he was in charge of Crystal Palace last summer.

How will Sam Allardyce’s departure affect the Turkey international?
Big Sam did sign Tosun and the striker made it clear he is fond of the manager. The powerful striker fitted into Allardyce’s plans of having a forward capable of holding up play and a danger from aerial balls.
Tosun worked tirelessly but the problem was he was pretty much starved of service. Everton have a squad capable of playing a more adventurous style which made the head coaches cautious approach all the more frustrating for supporters.
The striker scored five goals since his arrival from just eight shots on target. Tosun has had to fight for scraps and was largely left an isolated figure up front. A far cry from his time at Besiktas when he had Ricardo Quaresma, Anderson Talisca and Ryan Babel bombarding him with clever through balls and crosses.
Why Marco Silva could bring out the best of Tosun Pasha
Everton were under pressure to appoint a manager with an aesthetically pleasing brand of football following pressure from the fans.
Everton’s new director of football, Marcel Brands revealed that Silva’s style of play is attack minded: “Marco is a young coach but also an experienced coach and he’s worked already at the top, while also gaining experience of the Premier League which is also an important factor,” he said.
“One of the most important things is that he’s a guy who wants to play attractive, attacking football and also wants to work in the structure we have at Everton.”
Brands comments will come as music to the ears of Tosun. Considering the fee the Toffees paid for the striker and how well he has adapted, I think it is safe to say he will remain an option next season.
The striker has been initiated to Premier League football. After struggling at first he found his feat. Five goals from open play while playing under Allardyce’s style of football is a pretty decent return. I believe the best is yet to come.
