Liverpool have been closely linked with a move for Hoffenheim midfielder Kerem Demirbay over the past week.

Demirbay has been in fine form since returning from injury and put on an impressive display in the 2-1 defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League.

Turkish-Football reported that the Reds have rekindled interest in the midfielder of Turkish origin.

Liverpool have been linked with Demirbay in the past but he spent much of the second half of last season out injured and recently extended his contract to 2022.

Liverpool fans, in general, appeared happy being linked with Demirbay but some did mention his injury record as a potential concern.

Interesting piece on how Demirbay could fit in at Liverpool. The 25-year-old is an attack-minded central midfielder who can play in deep or advanced positions.

Demirbay played for Turkey at U19 and U20 level before switching to Germany U21s and then returning to the Crescent-Stars U21 side.

The midfielder eventually represented Germany at senior level and has two caps for the national team.
