Hugo Almeida on the verge of joining Kuban Krasnodar [divider]

Hugo Almeida is on the verge of joining Russian club Kuban Krasnodar according to Eurosport TR.

The former Beşiktaş striker is expected to sign a 1.5 year deal worth €200,000 per-season.

Almeida joined Cesena in the summer but is expected to leave after failing to score in 10 appearances.

The 30-year-old is currently a free agent after Cesena terminated his contract after just three months.

Cesena released a statement on their official website confirming that the had parted company with the 30-year-old striker.

The Serie A outfit Cesena currently find themselves in 19th place in the league with one win, six draws and 12 defeats this season.

Almeida has also been linked with moves to Fiorentina, Bursaspor, Gaziantepspor and Balıkesirspor in recent weeks.

The 30-year-old moved to Beşiktaş for €3 million from Werder Bremen in July 2011.

The Portuguese international scored 37 goals in 88 appearances for the Black Eagles.

Almeida became a free transfer last summer after Beşiktaş failed to meet his wage demands which were reported to be in the region of €3 million per-season.

The Black Eagles opted to sign Chelsea striker Demba Ba instead.
