‘I want Galatasaray stay’ says Japan international Yuto Nagatomo – on loan from Inter

Japan international defender Yuto Nagatomo has revealed that he is happy with life in Istanbul and is open to making his move to Galatasaray permanent.

The versatile full-back joined Galatasaray on loan from Inter Milan towards the end of January.

In a recent interview with the Turkish outlet Milliyet, Nagatomo stated that he is eager to make his move permanent, despite being with the Nerazzurri since January 2011.

“I want to play and remain at Galatasaray,” Nagatomo told the Milliyet.

“I have settled in well and I have been reborn here. I like to play football and I knew what the club was like. I have immediately settled in to Istanbul.”

Galatasaray have already agreed a buy-out clause with inter for the Japan international. The Lions can sign Nagatomo if they table a €2.5m bid and match his current salary of €850,000 per year.

Nagatomo may find it difficult to find a starting place at Inter if he returns.

The Serie A giants are close to landing Juventus left-back Kwadwo Asamoah, who will be a free agent in June.

Nagatomo played a starring role for Galatasaray during their last two Turkish Super Lig fixtures.

The Istanbul giants are back in action this weekend when they take on Konyasor at the Turk Telekom stadium.
