Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger makes strong statement regarding Mesut Ozil and Sanchez’s future

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has responded to reports linking Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez with a move away from the club.

The duo have under seven months left on their contract’s and don’t appear to be any closer to signing new deals with the Gunners.

Both Ozil and Sanchez could end up leaving the club for free next summer unless the Gunners offload them in January.

However, Wenger has insisted that Sanchez and Ozil will not be leaving the club during the January transfer window.

“Yes, of course. That is what we said many times,” Wenger told reporters when asked if the pair would still be Arsenal players on February 1.

Wenger went onto completely rule out selling the duo when pressed on the issue by reporters. “Yes, I rule it out.

“I do not think every day about that. At the moment I think, as long as they are here, they have to give their best for the team and for the club.

“In my head, they stay until the end of the season.”

Ozil was sidelined for Sunday’s victory over Burnley due to and illness. The Gunners came away with all three points following a last second Alexis Sanchez goal.

The Germany international playmaker remain a doubt going into Wednesday night’s trip to Huddersfield.

Arsenal find themselves in fourth place in the Premier League after 13 games. The Gunners take on their title rivals Manchester United at the Emierates this weekend.
