Ireland v Germany Confirmed Starting XI: Arsenal star Mesut Ozil stars, Liverpool's Emre Can left on bench

Germany take on Ireland needing just a point from their penultimate Euro 2016 Group D qualifier to book a place in the tournament.

Arsenal star Mesut Özil is expected will start alongside Muller and Gotze. The trio have been called ‘Gözilla’ after the Japanese mythical beast by German newspaper BILD and will pose the main attacking threat against Ireland.

Özil is also one of two players in the starting lineup of Turkish origin the other Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gündoğan. Liverpool midfielder-come-defender Emre Can has however, been left out on the bench.

Can made his international debut in the last round of qualification games in group D as a full-back. The 21-year-old is likely to feature as a defender again if he is used against the Irish.
