Arda Güler couldn’t hide his excitement after scoring his first goal for Real Madrid in their dominant 4-0 win over Celta Vigo.

Despite making just his fourth La Liga appearance as an 89th-minute substitute, the 19-year-old found time to shine, rounding the goalkeeper and firing home his first goal since his summer transfer from Fenerbahce.

While late cameos have become the norm for Güler, with his four appearances totaling only 26 minutes, he admitted to a challenging season so far.

“It was fantastic to score in such a stunning atmosphere,” Güler said. “I’m thrilled to have scored my first goal, thanks to everyone who has supported me. I hope there will be many more to come and I will work hard to make it happen.”

Acknowledging the difficulties, Güler remains optimistic: “It’s been a difficult season so far, but hopefully after today better things will come. I’m really happy to be here. It’s the best club in the world and, although it’s tough, I think I have the quality and character to rise up to it.”

Ancelotti Reassures Güler of His Faith

Limited playing time had fueled rumors of a rift between Güler and manager Carlo Ancelotti. However, the Italian boss emphasized his support after the game.

The Italian manager has backed the attacking midfielder to have a future at the club dispelling rumours that he is headed for a summer exit.

“He has played very little,” Ancelotti acknowledged of Güler. “I was sure that he could do something. He is a great talent. His goal was very good. He has a big future here. We are very sure of that.”

Güler Explains His Winning Move

Reflecting on his goal, Güler provided insight into his thought process: “When I was one-on-one with the goalkeeper, I saw that he was losing position, so I took the ball to my right and shot. Fortunately it went in and I’m very happy.”

Real will face Osasuna next in the league away from home on Saturday.
