Jack Wilshere is a bizarre reason why Mesut Ozil hasn’t penned new Arsenal deal revealed
Arsenal star playmaker Mesut Ozil could end up leaving the Gunners for free, four years after joining from Real Madrid for £42 million.
The 29-year-old has under nine months left on his current deal with the Gunners and is yet to reach a new deal with Arsenal.
According to the Manchester Evening News, one of the sticking points over Ozil’s contract stand-off with Arsenal is the fact he wants to wear the No.10 shirt.
However, Jack Wilshere currently occupies the jersey Ozil so badly wants. The World Cup winner has frequently stated that he would like the No.10 shirt since joining the club but has had to stick with the No. 11 shirt.
Earlier this year Ozil told the German outlet Kicker that he was hoping to receive the No.10 shirt when Wilshere left the club on loan.

Despite the constant criticism aimed at Ozil, statistically he has had a good start to the season.
Ozil played a starring role during Arsenal’s 5-2 victory over Everton in the Premier League. The former Real Madrid man contributed with a goal and assist on the day.
