Liverpool midfielder James Milner lavished praise on his teammate Emre Can in his latest interview with the official Liverpool website.
Milner described the young midfielder as being ‘brilliant’ and that his presence in the side strengthens the team.
“He has been brilliant this year in midfield, brilliant on the ball and his energy, strength and pace winning the ball back for us is massive,” Milner told the official Liverpool website.
Can has been one of Jurgen Klopp’s most trusted players since replacing Brendan Rodgers as head coach mid-way through the first half of the season.
The Germany midfielder of Turkish origin had previously been deployed as a defender and a full-back occasionally being used in midfield under the stewardship of Rodgers.
Klopp has however, moved Can into his preferred position which is central midfield. The 22-year-old has made 45 appearances for the Reds this season in all competitions and is almost certain to start against Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League quarter-final second leg after missing the weekend Premier League game against Stoke City over the weekend.
