Jamie Carragher identified Mesut Ozil as Arsenal weak link following Chelsea defeat

Mesut Ozil

SkySports pundit and former Liverpool star defender Jamie Carragher has singled out Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Mesut Ozil as Arsenal’s weak links over the weekend.

The Gunners suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of their London rivals Chelsea on Saturday. Unai Emery’s side are still looking for their first victory of the 2018/19 Premier League season.

Carragher and Gary Neville debated Emery’s methods during the Monday Night Football show and the debate spilled over to social media too.

The former Liverpool man believes Arsenal boss Unai Emery can only be successful playing Ozil and Mkhitaryan together if they both press and trackback.

Mkhitaryan scored for Arsenal during their defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.

Arsenal are back in action this weekend when they take on West Ham United this weekend. The Hammers have also suffered back-to-back defeats in their opening two games of the season.

Ozil registered 14 assists and five goals in 35 appearances for Arsenal last season.
