Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has been critical of Can recently but he did praise his ‘fantastic pass’ as well as last weeks goal.
“I just think it was a fantastic pass from Emre Can, we spoke about him last week, he got his side the goal,” Carragher said while commentating on the game.
Can scored the winning goal in the 2-1 win over Burnley – the first time he has netted this year.
The 23-year-old had come under fire from sections of the media and fans after a dip in form but he has shown an improvement in the last four games he has started.
Can will enter the last year of his contract over the summer but has yet to agree to a new deal.
The powerful midfielder is reported to be keen on staying at the club and contract talks are ongoing.
