The Serie A champions were reported to be impressed with Can and he is being eyed as a replacement for Pjanic – who they claim is keen on a Barcelona move.
Can’s versatility – he can play most roles in midfield as well as the full-back position – makes him an attractive option for Allegri.
The report does however, underline that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp wants Can to stay at the club and sign a contract extension.
The midfielder of Turkish origin has just over 12 months remaining on his contract but has yet to extend his deal.
The 23-year-old is currently on international duty at the Confederations Cup but his representatives are reported to be in talks with the Reds over a new deal.
Tutto Mercato Web claim that Can is set to put pen-to-paper on a £100,000 a-week deal which will keep him at the club until 2021.
