The Juventus prospect who recently made his debut for both club and country was entrusted by manager Vincenzo Montella with a starting role against Germany and repaid the coach’s faith with a debut goal.

Yildiz joined Juventus from Bayern Munich and after rising through the youth ranks last season at the U19 level he has swiftly earned a promotion to the first team.

Now a rising star for the Turkish national team, Yildiz expressed his elation at scoring for his country last night praising manager Montella and the Turkish Football Federation.

“I want to thank the entire Turkish Federation. I am happy to have contributed to the victory by scoring a goal. I would like to thank our coach for believing in me. I hope to continue like this. Montella is a really good coach in terms of motivation. He is also a very good person in terms of character. Before the match, he reassured me by telling me: “Don’t worry, play your football, you’re very good, play comfortably,” he added.

Additionally, Juventus also praised Yildiz for his performance on the night with the following tweet.

Yildiz is an 18 year old striker who was born of Germany but decided to represent the country of his parents Turkiye at senior international level.

The victory was the Turkish sides first against Germany in 18 years and the first in 72 years in an away game.
