Gundogan received widespread praise for his display against Spurs, a few City fans even called for him to be awarded Man of the Match.
MOTM for me has been Gundogan. He gets stick of some fans but he’s a calm head and clever player.

What a player Ilkay Gundogan is. MOTM for me today and showing that he is more than capable of stepping in for, and possibly even replacing, Fernandinho when needed pic.twitter.com/Jh2miepSTp

Gundogan was decent at DM tonight. Maybe he plays better when he doesn’t have to stink up the final third oftenly .

Thought Gundogan was superb last night in the #6 role. I enjoy watching him the most there, feel like he can impact games much more with Silva and De Bruyne ahead of him rather than behind. Would keep him as backup to Fernandinho next season rather than sign a DM

As much as I love Fernandinho, Gundogan has been class in that role when needed this season! The future is bright, the future is blue!

Messi (73, 11-12)
Aguero (33, 16-17)
Muller (32, 15-16)
Mandzukic (26, 13-14)
Pedro (23, 09-10)
Sterling (22, 17-18)
Robben (21, 13-14)
Xavi (14, 11-12)
Sane (13, 17-18)
Bojan (12, 2009-10)
Iniesta (9, 10-11)

Bantz!
Is it true Harry Kane asked Gundogan if he could take City’s penalty?
— Eddie6 large (@eddie6large) April 15, 2018
Just been told Harry Kane will be claiming both goals scored by Jesus & Gündogan and if Man City win and it seals their PL title win, Spurs will lodge in an appeal to the PL to claim the trophy.

Stats!
2 of the last 3 penalties that Ilkay Gundogan has scored have been at Wembley – also in Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League defeat v Bayern, May 2013 pic.twitter.com/Mhpe5mE3ir
