Shota Arveladze lambasted a proposal to play the Beşiktaş  – Kasımpaşa game in Ankara.

“Why stop at Ankara? why not play in Izmir? further more why don’t we go home to Tblisi?,” Arveladze said.

“There are three stadiums in Istanbul not including ours, Beşiktaş have played 20 matches at the Atatürk Olympic stadium but now all of a sudden we are supposed to travel all the way to Ankara.

“I do not want to play outside of Istanbul, we do not have a problem with anyone but we prepared to play in Istanbul not elsewhere.”

Arveladze also praised Beşiktaş striker Demba Ba ahead of the game.

“Demba Ba is a great striker,” Arveladze said.

“Beşiktaş did a great bit of business signing him, he has no ego and the way he plays and carries himself always wins over the fans.

“He didn’t come over with a snobbish attitude thinking he did not have to try being a former Chelsea player.

“He is humble and tries very hard.”

Kasımpaşa will face Beşiktaş in Istanbul on Sunday 22 November 2014.
