‘King’ – Tottenham striker receives new nickname after goal in Istanbul derby victory

Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen was called a lot of things during his time in North London but king was probably not among them.

Janssen joined Fenerbahce on loan over the summer and has hit the ground running scoring two goals in his first two starts.

In fact Janssen has scored twice with his first two shots on target.

The Dutch striker was the star of the Istanbul derby winning his side a penalty for the opening goal and scoring from the spot-kick for the Yellow Canaries second goal of the evening in the 2-1 win over Besiktas.

If you think Janssen can make it three goals in three starts on Friday against Akhisar bookmakers like Netbet Sport are offering pretty tasty odds.

The striker would have scored more goals in his first three starts than he did in the Premier League last season.

Janssen shared a photograph from his training session today and was greeted with a barrage of comments from Fenerbahce fans referring to him as the ‘king’ or ‘kral’ which has the same meaning in Turkish.
