‘Klopp Needs To Start With His Strongest Team’ – Mark Lawrenson Warns Liverpool In Swansea Game Prediction
Liverpool take on Swansea City at Anfield hoping to get back to winning ways and move back into fourth place.
Tottenham overtook the Reds after beating Southampton 5-2 in the earlier Premier League Boxing Day clash.
Former Liverpool player and current BBC football pundit Mark Lawrenson has warned Jurgen Klopp not to underestimate Swansea in his match prediction.
Lawrenson stated that Liverpool are favourites but only if Klopp plays his strongest side against the Swans.
“My only reservation would be if their manager Jurgen Klopp looks ahead to their next game, against Leicester on 30 December,” Lawrenson wrote.
“If he tries to rest players against Swansea so they can face the Foxes then they are asking for trouble.
“Klopp needs to start with his strongest team on Boxing Day – that way, he can try to get the game won as early as possible and then start taking players off if he has to.”
Lawrenson predicted that Liverpool will go onto win the game by a 3-0 scoreline.
Midfielder of Turkish origin Emre Can is match fit for the game and expected to feature.
Can has yet to resolve his contract situation and will be a free agent at the end of the season unless he signs a new deal.
Klopp has however, given his star midfielder playing time despite the situation.
The 23-year-old did provide an assist in the 3-3 draw against Arsenal in the Reds last Premier League clash.
