Klopp Reveals Whether Liverpool Will Rest Key Players Against West Brom In Lead Up To Roma Clash

Liverpool take on Roma in the Champions League semi-final first leg tie at Anfield on Tuesday.

The Reds must take care of West Brom in the Premier League first before facing the Giallorossi.

Liverpool can afford to rest key players against the Baggies considering they are 10 points ahead of 5th placed Chelsea.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has however, made it clear that he will be taking the weekend clash seriously.

Star man Mohamed Salah is fit and Klopp did make it clear he will field a ‘really strong line up’.

In fact Klopp said he is not even thinking about Roma just yet and will not do so until after the West Brom game.

“I know you will ask about the selection for West Brom with the Roma game coming up. But we never did it like that. We have to line up a really strong line up,” Klopp said in his pre-match press conference.

“We respect the intensity of the season so far but at the end we respect West Brom and we respect the Premier League. We need points to be in the top four.

“It will be difficult. West Brom have got four points since they changed the manager. They deserved to beat Man United (last weekend).

“Now they have a home game and they will want to show that they believe in their little last chance (to stay up). We are the first opponent in that situation and we need to be at our best.

“We lost to them in the FA Cup, I don’t need to remind anyone about that. Only after the game will we think about Roma.

“There is no other way for us. We don’t have 25 players to line up two different teams in the different competitions.”

The Reds will be without midfielder of Turkish origin Emre Can who has a back injury.

Turkey international Cengiz Under is however, match fit for Roma after making his first start after four games.

Under scored his seventh goal of the season in the 2-1 victory over Genoa.

The 20-year-old is expected to be rested for the SPAL game on the weekend ahead of the Liverpool clash.
