Klopp set to make decision over Liverpool midfielder leaving on £2.2m transfer

Galatasaray have struck a £2.2m agreement with Liverpool to replace outgoing midfielder Nigel de Jong according to Turkish publication 

Sporx meanwhile, report that the transfer will be subject to the final decision of Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.

The Liverpool boss blocked the transfer of Leiva to Galatasaray over the summer and the Lions.

Galatasaray were on the verge of signing Lucas according to former club director Levent Nazifoglu.

“We spoke with Lucas Leiva last night and he asked us for another day before making his decision [to join],” Nazifoglu told Turkish-football.com over the summer transfer window.

“The situation will be clearer by tonight.”

Galatasaray gave Lucas 24 hours to make his decision towards the end of the transfer window but Reds head coach Jurgen Klopp vetoed the move according to Fanatik.

The Istanbul will have more say over the summer as Lucas will be out of contract unless a new deal is offered.

Klopp has yet to reveal if Lucas will be offered a contract extension.

Lucas is the longest serving member of the current Liverpool squad but has struggled for regular playing time this season.

The Brazilian could receive more playing time following injury to Adam Lallana but it remains to be seen if Klopp will make use of the veteran midfielder
