La Liga giants confirm offer for Arsenal defensive target, Turkish giants demand £17.5m

Fenerbahce defender Simon Kjaer continues to be linked with a summer exit.

La Liga giants Sevilla became the latest side to make an offer for the Denmark international.

Sevilla sporting director Oscar Arias confirmed being in the race for Kjaer but did not disclose the details of the offer made.

“We want to reach an agreement over the transfer of Simon Kjaer,” Arias was quoted as saying by Fotomac.

“I do not want the offer to be jeopardised so I am not going to get into details.”

Arsenal meanwhile were reported to have made a £10.5 million bid for the centre-back which was turned down according to Fotomac.

The report claims that the Gunners are considering their options in regards to a second move.

A source close to the club revealed to Turkish-Football that Fenebahce are not interested in selling Kjaer for less than their £17.5 million valuation.

Kjaer does have another two-years remaining on his contract and has established himself as a star player as well as a fan favourite.

The 28-year-old’s agent Mikkel Beck revealed that his client is happy at Fenerbahce and will not consider an offer unless it happens to be from a European giant.
