Lazio & Fenerbahce Receive Transfer Boost For Arsenal Forward After Champions League Club Pull Out Of Talks

Galatasaray have pulled out of the race to sign Arsenal forward Joel Campbell.

A source close to the Lions told Turkish-Football that the club are no longer interested in the Costa Rica international.

The Lions had been in talks with the Gunners and Campbell’s representatives over a move.

The Istanbul giants are no longer in the race after signing Everton forward Henry Onyekuru on a loan deal.

The latest development may come as a boost to Lazio and Fenerbahce who are still in the race for the 26-year-old.

Fotomac report that both sides are keen on signing the Arsenal man who has just 12 months left on his current deal.

Per the source, both sides do however, have some way to go before completing the transfer.

They are reported to be in the early stages of talks.

Campbell is expected to make a decision on his future following Costa Rica’s exit from the World Cup.

The forward has just 12 months remaining on his contract but has yet to be offered a new deal.

Arsenal loaned him out to Real Betis last season where he scored twice and provided one assist in eight La Liga games.

Costa Rica finished Group E in last place recording just a single point from three games.
