Liverpool fans have come to the defence of their former goalkeeper Loris Karius.
The German keeper is currently on a two-year loan deal with the Turkish Super Lig giants Besiktas. Karius made his debut for his new club on Sunday during a 1-1 draw against Bursaspor.
The 24-year-old made a string of impressive saves including an incredible one-on-one save. However, Karius was also at fault for Bursaspor’s equaliser towards the end of the game.
The former Germany U21 keeper was criticised on social media after the goal he conceded. However, some Liverpool fans responded by showing support and compassion for their former star goalkeeper.

What was he supposed to do there
— chris (@chrick81) September 2, 2018
I don't think so, seems pple are now just looking to taint him… credit to the cross which landed between goalie and defenders…. very few if any could have saved that

Karius was Liverpool’s first choice goalkeeper but fell down the pecking order at Anfield following the signing of Alisson Becker from AS Roma.
Besiktas take on Yeni Malatyaspor in their next league fixture after the international break on September 16. Liverpool meanwhile have a tough trip to London where they will take on Tottenham.
