Leeds United are favorites to sign Manchester City defender Jason Denayer but Galatasaray remain in talks according to Fanatik.

The Turkish sports newspaper report that City want to sell Denayer this summer and Leeds are the only side to have made a permanent offer.

Denayer meanwhile, is keen on returning Galatasaray after spending last season on loan at the Super Lig champions.

The problem is the Lions are only willing to loan the Belgium international.

The defender would prefer a move to Galatasaray who would be able to offer Champions League football this season.

Additionally, Denayer has already settled in at the Yellow-Reds and would be assured a first-team role after winning the trust of manager Fatih Terim.

As things stand only Galatasaray and Leeds have made an offer for the 23-year-old.

Galatasaray are keen on strengthening their defence after their shock defeat to Akhisar in the Turkish Super Cup Final last Sunday.

The powerful centre-back has another two-years remaining on his contract but does not appear to be part of Pep Guardiola’s plans next season.

Denayer has fallen down the pecking order at City behind John Stones, Vincent Kompany, Aymeric Laporte and Nicolas Otamendi.

The Belgium defender was not included in the Community Shield squad against Chelsea over the weekend.
