Leeds United striker Caleb Ekuban joined Trabzonspor on loan over the summer and despite getting off to a great start with a goal against Galatasaray on his debut he has struggled for playing time since.

Ekuban has played just 24 minutes of first-team football since playing his first game for the Super Lig outfit.

The problem Ekuban has had is Burak Yilmaz and Hugo Rodallega being in red-hot form over the past few weeks.

Yilmaz has four goals in his last three games and Rodallega has five goals this term for a Trabzonspor side that have won back to back games.

Ekuban has not grown disheartened and believes his time will come.

“I fell behind Burak [Yilmaz] and [Hugo] Rodallega in the pecking order but are will not run from the battle,” he said.

“I will fight for my place in the team.

“I believe the manager will reward me and give me playing time.

“I love competition and know I will win back the shirt.”

Trabzonspor sources have made it clear to Turkish-Football that the manager and technical staff are happy with the Leeds man and that he will be used this season.

The Black Sea based side are currently 5th in the table and take on Erzurum BB next at home.
