Caglar Soyuncu started for the Leicester U23 side over the weekend as his wait for a debut continues.
The Turkey international is yet to make a senior appearance for the Foxes following his £19 million move from Frieberg.
Soyuncu was not included in the 18-man match day Leicester City squad which took on Bournemouth.
Claud Puel’s side ended up losing 4-2 while captain Wes Morgan was sent off.
Soyuncu could be called up for his debut next weekend following Morgan’s red-card. However, according to the Leicester Mercury, the 22-year-old failed to impress during a 1-1 draw with Chelsea U23.
Per the source, Soyuncu struggled throughout the 90 minutes and required fellow centre-back Josh Knight, goalkeeper Viktor Johansson or Chelsea’s wastefulness to bail him out.
The Leicester Mercury states that manager Claud Puel will likely turn to Jonny Evans next week. Soyuncu is likely to be given a spot on the bench.
Leicester take on Huddersfield at the King Power Stadium this weekend.
