Leicester City Boss Reveals Thoughts On £19m Signing After Debut

Man Utd transfer news: Caglar Soyuncu

Leicester City summer signing Caglar Soyuncu made his debut for the Foxes U23 side on Monday night.

The Turkey international made a move to the 2015/16 Premier League from Friberg for £19 million on deadline day. Soyuncu only received his work-permit from the UK home office last week.

Leicester City boss Claud Puel was present at the game monitoring Soyuncu’s performance.

The French tactician was happy with Soyuncu’s performance but stated that there is a lot of competition for places in defence and that the former Altinordu man needs more game time.

“I was happy about his performance for his first game after his injury,” Claud Puel was quoted as saying by the Leicester Mercury.

“It was a good game with quality, with calm, he gave a good response. It was interesting.

“We have a good squad, with a lot of players and competition. He needs other games, but we look at his quality and it will be important for us.”

Soyuncu, Wes Morgan, Jonny Evans, Harry Maguire, Filip Benkovic and Benalouane are all competing for two centreback places in Leicester’s starting lineup.

The Foxes take on Liverpool this weekend as they look to maintain their winning run of form. Leicester are coming off the back of a 2-1 win over Southampton and a 4-0 win over Fleetwood in the League Cup.
