Leicester City deserved to win the Premier League according to Liverpool star Emre Can.
The Reds midfielder told the official Liverpool website that the Foxes were the best side in the league this season.
Can told the official Liverpool website: “Leicester City deserved to win this year because they played a great, great season and they were strong as a team.”
The 22-year-old also stated that the goal of Liverpool should always be to win the league title – although the Reds have not won the Premier League since it was founded.
“Everybody knows that Liverpool is a big club and our target has to be, always, to win the title,” he added.
Liverpool could however, win a trophy this season if they beat Sevilla in the Europa League final at the end of the month.
The Reds beat Villarreal 3-0 at Anfield to book a place in the final with Can playing a staring role after recovering from injury just before the clash.
Can will play in his first European competitions final if he makes an appearances against Sevilla.
