Everton lost 2-0 against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday extending their winless run away to the North London outfit to 25 games.
Star striker Cenk Tosun was benched heading into the clash after a goal drought that has seen him fail to find the back of the net this season.
The Turkey international does have two assists to his name but has struggled for goals and finally got the cut.
Tosun was brought on later in the game but was unable to get his name on the score-sheet.
We took a look at how Everton fans reacted to Tosun’s display on social media following the result.

Everton fans gave a mixed response to Tosun’s display on social media with some saying he deserved to be benched while others felt he is being harshly judged and deserves more time.
Today was the first time I thought Cenk Tosun really looked like a striker on a goal drought.
His other matches didn’t bring goals but they brought strong performances, he still contributed a lot to the side. It was different today, and that’s a slight concern really

Even with the decent performances, he’s still a striker on a goal drought. It’s very concerning mate, particularly with the lack of alternatives.

Can’t make my mind up on how I though Dominic Calvert-Lewin played In that first half wasteful early on but his hold up play and passing hasn’t been bad at times, though I reckon Cenk Tosun would of bagged in the second minute

How many premier league goals have Kane & Salah scored this season? 2 each? Whether Tosun plays tomorrow or not I think some of the criticism aimed at him has been unjustified. Until recently his play & work rate have been decent. Let’s give him more time. #EFC

Reason is simple; “not feeding @CenkTosun_ “ You have great a striker but you don’t understand him.

@CenkTosun_ badly missed your hold up play today, shows how your all round game is so important to @Everton . Know you will start scoring goals for us soon#quality striker

Disappointed to see Cenk Tosun dropped but until he can find his footing, DCL carries more goal-scoring threat.
Would have been nice to see Bernard from the off too, but it’ll come in time. #efc

In Tosun’s defence.
I suppose, in his defence, there are not many strikers that do too well as the lone man up front.
