Liverpool Ace Emre Can Fires Warning To Rivals Man United

Liverpool star Emre Can faces an uncertain future with just a few months remaining on his current contract.

Can has yet to reveal whether he will extend his deal or leave over the summer as a free agent.

One thing the midfielder of Turkish origin cannot be accused of is letting his contract situation get in the way of his commitment to the team.

The 24-year-old delivered a warning to Manchester United after stating he believes they can overtake their rivals who are currently second in the league.

Can does not feel Liverpool can catch leaders Manchester City but does think a runners-up spot is up for grabs.

“I think we can finish second in the Premier League,” he told DAZN.

“To win the title is a bit difficult. In the league, it is very close. We focus on all competitions right now.”

Liverpool are just two points behind second-placed United but 18 behind the Citizens.

Jurgen Klopp has not ruled out the possibility of Can remaining at Anfield beyond the end of the season and neither has the midfielder.

Klopp has kept the midfielder as a first-team regular.

Can would probably had featured for Liverpool had he not been suspended for the 5-0 victory over Porto in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie.

The Germany international has five goals and four assists in 32 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions this season.

Can has started the Reds last nine consecutive league games.

The midfielder is likely to start next Saturday as they take on West Ham at Anfield in the Premier League.
