Liverpool Ace Loris Karius Snubbed By Super Lig Giants After Reds Offered Keeper But Talks Ongoing Over Belgium International

Liverpool offered Loris Karius to Besiktas but the Super Lig outfit snubbed the move according to AMK.

Per the source, the Black Eagles approached the Reds over Simon Mignolet but the Reds also proposed Karius the Istanbul giants after reportedly transfer listing him.

The reason behind Besiktas’ decision is not explained but a source close to the club revealed to Turkish-Football that talks with Mignolet’s representatives are ongoing.

The club would not respond to whether Karius is also on the shortlist.

It would be odd for Liverpool to offer Karius considering he is currently second choice keeper in the pecking order behind Alisson Becker.

Unless of course, the Reds plan to find a replacement before the end of the transfer window next week.

Karius does have another three-years remaining on his contract and does still appear to be in the plans of Jurgen Klopp.

Mignolet meanwhile has been given the green light to leave after falling into third place in the pecking order.

Besiktas have made signing a new keeper a priority after selling Fabri to Fulham last month.

The Turkish giants do have until the end of the month to complete their transfers as the Super Lig window runs until 30 August.
