Liverpool ace seeking January move but agent urges avoiding making same mistake as Markovic

Marko Grujic’s agent Zoran Stojadinovic has publicly stated that his client wants to leave Liverpool in January after failing to break into the first-team.

Grujic was actually Jurgen Klopp’s first signing at Liverpool but the Serbian international has had his chances of playing hampered by a long-term injury in his debut season.

Klopp has overlooked Grujic this season but the 21-year-old is still highly rated by Klopp.

The Reds do not want to lose the young midfielder on a permanent deal but a loan move could be on the cards.

Grujic was Jurgen Klopp’s first signing at Liverpool but the Serbian has not been able to break into his first-team plans.

Stojadinovic is open to a loan move but has urged his client not to make the same mistake as fellow Serbian international and Liverpool teammate Lazar Markovic.

Markovic went on a downward spiral after loan spells with Fenerbahce, Sporting Lisbon and Hull City.

The Serbian winger struggled in Turkey due to recurring injury problems despite being useful when available.

Markovic had two goals and three assists in 21 appearances for Fenerbahce during his time in Turkey.

“Grujic has to go somewhere in January in a loan, in the team where he will play,” Stojadinovic told Blic.

“It must be an English club, so as not to make a mistake like Lazar Markovic did.

“Had Lazar been my client, I would never advise him to leave England.

“He changed the country, the style of football, the temperament, the climate, and therefore his return to Liverpool was an impossible mission.

“To return to Grujic, he is very much appreciated in Liverpool and therefore he did not go anywhere because they did not want to let him go.

“But he needs several minutes on the pitch and that is why loan is already the best solution for him in January to take his place in the starting line after returning to Liverpool.”

Grujic has played just 12 minutes of Premier League football this season.
