Liverpool keeper Simon Mignolet has been linked with a summer exit after falling down the pecking order into third choice behind Alisson Becker and David Ospina.
Napoli and Besiktas have both expressed an interest in the Belgium international.
Mignolet’s agent Nico Vaessen did confirm that Napoli have been in talks with his client.
“We’re talking, but there’s no agreement,” Vaessen told Belgian outlet La Derniere Heure.
“It’s in the interest of the club to find a solution.
“Liverpool want to keep him, but he wants to and must play. He deserves to play in a great team.
“For them [Napoli], Simon represents the best option in terms of quality, but there’s also the financial aspect.”
The Serie A outfit have however, signed Arsenal keeper David Ospina on loan according to The Guardian.
The Italian transfer market shuts on Friday and with Napoli presumably out of the picture having already found a new keeper that leaves Mignolet short on time and options over a summer exit.
The Super Lig transfer window does run until September 1 and sources close to Besiktas have confirmed that Mignolet is among several goalkeeper targets.
The problem the Black Eagles have been having is regarding Mignolet’s price tag but with Napoli out the picture, it will strengthen their bargaining position.
The Super Lig outfit want to loan the keeper who has another three-years remaining on his contract.
Mignolet is unlikely to feature for the Reds this season and Besiktas would be prepared to offer him a first-choice spot.
