Liverpool ace Xherdan Shaqiri linked with summer exit, Galatasaray ready bid

Galatasaray have been linked with a move for Liverpool’s Switzerland international winger Xherdan Shaqiri.

The Lions have already begun plans for the season ahead despite finding themselves 5th in the Turkish Super Lig.

According to the Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, Galatasaray will table a bid for Shaqiri at the end of the season.

Per the source, Shaqiri is pushing for a move away from the club after finding himself on the fridges of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side.

Galatasaray have been long-term admirers of Shaqiri and were previously in talks to sign the 28-year-old prior to his move to Bayern Munich.

Shaqiri still has three years remaining on his contract with Liverpool.

The flamboyant winger has, however, played just 174 minutes of Premier League football this season and has one goal to his name.

His price-tag may prove to be a stumbling block. Shaqiri is valued at £20 million on Transfermarkt and is understood to be on approximately £4 million per-season.

Galatasaray have won the league title for the past two seasons and are currently just three points behind the league leaders.
