Liverpool Boss Jurgen Klopp Green Lights Star Defender Exit – Damien Comolli Set For Talks

Fenerbahce are set to reignite their interest in Liverpool star defender Ragnar Klavan.

According to the Daily Turkish newspaper Fanatik, the Yellow Canaries will table a fresh offer for the Estonia international in the coming days.

The Yellow Canaries have until August 31 to get the transfer over the line.

Per the source, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has given the green-light to Klaven’s exit this summer. The 31-year-old has fallen behind Joel Matip, Joe Gomez, Dejan Lovren and Virgil van Dijk in the pecking order at Anfield.

The report goes onto state that Fenerbahce’s director of football Damien Comolli is hoping to use his contacts at Liverpool to make the transfer happen.

Meanwhile, the Chronicle has reported that Newcastle United were interested in signing Klaven before the transfer window in England slammed shut.

The Chronicle states that manager Rafa Benitez wanted to sign Klavan but the club were unable to strike a deal with Liverpool.

Klaven was not included in the Liverpool match-day squad which defeated West Ham by a 4-0 scoreline.
