Fenerbahce have made an offer for Max Kruse a source close to the club revealed to Turkish-Football but there is competition from across Europe including Liverpool and Roma.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp spoke to Kruse before the Champions League semi-final against Barcelona.

The Reds see Kruse as a potential squad player who would add depth to the attack.

The 31-year-old is available on a free transfer making him a risk-free signing but it remains to be seen whether he is happy with being a rotation player or is he has ambitions to be a first choice pick.

Fenerbahce would be able to offer him a first-team role but they face competition and the fact that they have their hands tied financially due to their FFP requirements complicates matters further.

Roma are also interested in Kruse but have yet to make a move for the German attacking midfielder due to uncertainty over who their next manager and sporting director will be.

Fenerbahce are under no illusions as to how difficult it would be to sign Kruse in the current market but they are in talks and hope to strike a deal.

The experienced attacking midfielder shared a photograph on social media having Turkish tea and food. This was interpreted as a hint that he is Fenerbahce bound but it is worth pointing out that his agent Ersin Akan is Turkish so it could all just be a coincidence.

The Yellow Canaries will be targeting predominantly free transfers and loan players this summer.

Kruse scored 12 times and provided 14 assists in 36 appearances for Werder Bremen in all competitions last season.
