Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has played down the injury to his star midfielder Emre Can.
The 22-year-old was forced off the field midway though the second half of Liverpool’s 5-0 win over Burton in the League Cup earlier this week.
“It is not that serious. It’s not that big [of a] pain anymore, but it’s the ankle he had problems with at the end of last season, so he’s a little bit worried. Klopp told Liverpool’s official website.
“Hopefully it’s nothing too serious.”
Can missed the Premier League Burnley clash last weekend with a minor back injury and had yet to reach 100 percent match fitness. The 22-year-old was given an extended break over the summer following Euro 2016 and struggled with an ankle injury at the tail end of last season.
The injury to Can has caused concern among Liverpool fans.

The German tactician may be without his star midfielder for the trip to White Hart Lane to take on Tottenham on the weekend as a result.
Liverpool are already in the midst of an injury crisis and would be in trouble going into the Tottenham game with Can sidelined as well.
