Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise on Loris Karius ahead of his move to Besiktas.

The German keeper has completed his move to the Turkish Giants on a two-year loan deal.

Karius landed at the Ataturk Airport in Istanbul on Saturday and underwent a medical with his new club this morning.

The deal between Besiktas and Liverpool could be made permanent if Karius plays over 50% of the Black Eagles games during his loan stay.

Following Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Brighton on Saturday, Klopp spoke to the press about Karius.

The German tactician stated that Karius is a great keeper and that Besiktas is a good fit for the 26-year-old.

“Loris is a fantastic goalkeeper at a very good goalkeeper age,” Klopp told reporters at the post-match press conference.

“A lot of people speak now about our improved defensive things and as good as Alisson was in the last three games, in most of the games when we were already really good in that he was not here. It was Loris in goal and he did a lot of good things.

“When I saw the Besiktas team, it’s quite an experienced team they have there. They have a good chance to win the league in Turkey, that’s cool.

“Now they have a really good goalkeeper. I’m really happy for him and he was very happy about the opportunity as well.”
