Liverpool Boss Reacts To Roma Making It To The Semi-Finals Without Mo Salah

Liverpool beat Manchester City 2-1 at the Etihad in the Champions League quarter-final first-leg on Tuesday.

The Reds ended up booking a place in the semi-finals 5-1 on aggregate after also beating City 3-0 at home.

The result was an upset but not the only one on the night.

Roma ended up coming back from a 4-1 first-leg defeat to Barcelona at the Camp Nou to beating the La Liga leaders 3-0 at home to go through on away goals.

The Serie A outfit managed to do so without Mohamed Salah who did of course join Liverpool over the summer.

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp could not quite believe that Roma made it past Barcelona without having Salah.

“I walked up the stairs and somebody told me. I really thought it was a joke. I respect Roma, fantastic football team. They lost Salah and they are in the semis!” Klopp said after the game.

Roma replaced Salah with Turkish wonderkid Cengiz Under over the summer transfer window.

Under has been nicknamed the new Mo Salah and played a key role in Roma making it through to the next round.

The Turkey international provided the assist for the third and final goal with a lovely corner which Manolas headed into the back of the net.

Under now has six goals and two assists in all competitions since February.
