The Germany international Emre Can has stated that he has big expectations for Liverpool this season.
Can said Liverpool must always aim to compete at the top and is confident about their chances this season.
The Reds ended last season in eight place and missed out on lifting silverware after losing to Man City and Sevilla in cup finals.
During an interview with the German outlet Sport1, Can stated that that Klopp has “big hopes” for this season.
The 22-year-old went onto say “We’ve made good signings, and did not lose many players. We’ve got a good squad with a good team spirit.”
However, Can went onto say that he isn’t 100 percent ready to play the full 90 minutes for Liverpool. The Germany international of Turkish origin returned late to pre-season training due to his Euro 2016 duties. However, Germany team-mate Mesut Ozil was not even included in the Gunners match-day squad.
“I am not 100 percent. I need to achieve that, but I’m giving it my all in training,”
Can has been working on his match fitness and could get his first start of the season next weekend against Burnley at Turd Moor.
