The Giallorossi were unable to build upon their mid-week Champions League triumph against Barcelona in the quarter-final second-leg tie on Tuesday.
The Italians will not face Liverpool in the semi-finals.
Roma knocked Barcelona out on away goals after losing the first leg 4-1 and then winning the second leg 3-0.
Turkey international star Cengiz Under provided Kostas Manolas with the tie winning assist a few minutes before full-time.

Under recovered from injury to make his return against Barcelona and he also came on as a substitute in the Rome derby. There was however, bad news from the Lazio clash as Manolas left the pitch injured.
The severity of the Greek international’s injury is currently unknown but it would serve as a major boost for Liverpool if he were out for the semi-final tie.
Manolas has just over a week to recover before the first-leg tie against Liverpool at Anfield next Tuesday.
The Reds will take on West Brom before their first Champions League game. Roma meanwhile have two games against Genoa and SPAL first.
The second-leg in Italy will be played the following week on 2 May 2018.
