Liverpool Daniel Sturridge In Part-Exchange Deal For World Cup Finalist Amid Reports £20m Offer Has Been Accepted

Liverpool have offered Daniel Sturridge in a part-exchange deal proposal to Besiktas according to the Fanatik newspaper.

Per the source, the Reds want to swap Sturridge for Domagoj Vida in addition to a transfer fee.

The latest development comes amid reports in Turkey that Besiktas have agreed to sell Vida to the Premier League giants.

The Reds counter offer poses an attractive proposition.

Besiktas had Sturridge on their shortlist already and have made signing a new striker a priority.

Liverpool meanwhile have been sending mixed messages over the future of Sturridge but the fact of the matter is he has just 12 months remaining on his contract and has yet to be offered a new deal.

The part-exchange offer was however, snubbed by Besiktas. The Super Lig outfit are keen on a clean sale.

The report claims Besiktas have received offers as high as £17.7m [€20m] which further complicates matters as completely different fees are being reported in different newspapers.

On Wednesday the Aksam newspaper claimed that Liverpool submitted a £20m offer for the World Cup finalist which Besiktas said ‘yes’ to.

A definitive figure was not given but the offers are in the region of €18-22m as opposed to €30-€35 million which has been quoted in some Turkish newspapers.

The club would not comment on Liverpool but did admit Vida is likely to join a Premier League side.

The 29-year-old started every game for Croatia in the World Cup, scoring in the quarter-final against Russia and providing an assist in the final against France.
