Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has been closely linked with a move to Super Lig giants Besiktas.
Reports that Mignolet is set to leave Anfield immanently intensified after he was omitted from the 29-man squad that headed out for Evian, France on monday.
The Echo report that contrary to the rumors the Reds actually planned to leave the 30-year-old out of the squad as he was one of four players which reached the World Cup semi-finals.
The stopper is not expected to report back at Melwood until August 5 after a three-week break.
Per the source, the Belgium international is still expected to leave Liverpool this summer and Besiktas are reported to be among ‘several’ interested sides.
The Black Eagles had been linked with a permanent move initially but as Turkish-Football reported on July 25, the asking price is out of the club’s buy range and they are keen on a loan move.
Talks are ongoing between Besiktas and the Reds over a temporary move.
Just yesterday Turkish sports newspaper Fotomac reported today that the Istanbul based giants have reached an agreement with Liverpool to loan goalkeeper Mignolet next season with a buyout clause option.
