Liverpool have drawn Premier League leaders Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals.
The draw took place today at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
The Reds have never actually played the Citizens before in European competition.
Liverpool booked a place in the quarter-finals after eliminating Porto, 5-0 on aggregate.
City meanwhile knocked out Basel with a 5-2 aggregate scoreline.
The Citizens are on course to lifting the Premier League title, it would take a miracle for fourth-placed Liverpool to catch them in the top division.
Liverpool were reportedly the toughest side City could have drawn in the quarter-finals according to Betstars.
The research stated: “Liverpool’s clinical attack would be the worst case scenario for Man City who have a poor ratio for conceding xG so far in this year’s Champions League campaign.
“Only two teams are below City in terms of xG ratio. The Reds’ meanwhile, have been clinical with 28 goals scored from 22.4xG in this year’s competition”
